For importers who have problems in getting packing declarations on time or completed correctly there may be a solution. It could be that annual packing declarations are just what you need. Australian Quarantine requires a packing declaration to accompany each shipment that arrives into Australia. This is basically a declaration to advise what the packaging material used in a consignment is made from. However, if your supplier uses the same packing type for each and every shipment then an annual packing declaration can alleviate the need for a packing declaration for each specific shipment.
The procedure for annual packing declarations is very simple indeed;

- Have the supplier make an annual packing declaration and email you a copy. (FJT LOGISTICS can help you with a template)
- Send the copy to FJT LOGISTICS for assessment.
- Once ok they will keep this document on file for presentation to Quarantine if required.
- The annual packing declaration will be valid to clear all shipments for a one year period. This approval will expire exactly one year from the date that the supplier has dated the packing declaration and they will need a new declaration for the next 12 month period.
