VISY (Singapore) showcases Expertise in Major Capital Projects and Logistics Operations

VISY GLOBAL LOGISTICS, your Pangea partner in Singapore and also a partner in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Vietnam, continues to demonstrate its capability in managing complex logistics operations across Australia through the successful execution of major capital projects, including the Apollo Project and logistics support for Visy’s glass operations.

Apollo Project – Steel Structure Logistics

The Apollo Project showcases VISY GLOBAL LOGISTICS’ end-to-end expertise from supplier coordination in China to final delivery in Brisbane. The team managed multiple shipment types using 40HC containers, Breakbulk transport, and container leasing solutions.

The team successfully handled a total of 35 shipments, which included 25 Breakbulk steel shipments with oversize cargo. In addition, they managed 250 TEU of full container loads, with the total shipment volume reaching 8,000 w/m. Visibility and monitoring were further enhanced through the implementation of end-to-end control tower operations.

The Singapore headquarters team provided centralized coordination, ensuring consistent execution quality and tailored solutions focused on cost savings and deadline compliance.

Apollo Project – Silos and Hoppers

The Silos and Hoppers operation focused on optimizing freight booking efficiency and meeting strict stakeholder deadlines. The team successfully moved more than 1,100 containers and managed 35 Breakbulk shipments. In addition, over 250 purchase orders were coordinated, with several still ongoing as part of the project’s continued execution.

Despite tight timelines during the Oceania peak season, including the Christmas and New Year period, the team maintained smooth execution through close collaboration with suppliers, consignees, fumigators, and destination offices. The project was delivered efficiently despite seasonal pressures.

Strategic Execution – Silos Shipment for Yatala Glass Facility

The Silos Shipment for the Yatala Glass Facility involved integrated planning and seamless execution. Loading operations began in Changshu, where cargo was transferred by barge before being loaded onto the mother vessel for shipment to Australia.

The operation followed six to nine months of planning, including securing vessel space for out-of-gauge cargo, negotiating freight rates, and coordinating with multiple vendors and carriers. This shipment formed a vital part of VISY’s infrastructure expansion and demonstrated the company’s capability to manage complex, multi-modal capital projects with precision and agility.

Over-Dimensional Silo Transfer – Glass Division

VISY GLOBAL LOGISTICS completed the transport of oversized silos from the Port of Brisbane to a barge ramp, supporting infrastructure development for the Glass Division.

Traffic control measures were implemented along the transport route to ensure the safe movement of oversized cargo. Three dedicated barges were deployed to handle the heavy and high-profile silos, while berthing and discharge operations were carefully coordinated at BG Marine to enable efficient unloading and smooth transfer to the next stage of transport.

The operation was completed in full compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. Despite technical complexities, delivery was achieved within tight project timelines. The successful execution demonstrated the team’s capability to manage challenging, multi-modal logistics operations with precision and efficiency.
