MARINAIR CARGO SERVICES, your Pangea partner in Greece, successfully completed a demanding project: the transport of an oversized school bus from the Port of Piraeus to Busan, South Korea. The cargo exceeded the dimensions of a standard container and required specialized planning at every stage.

From the outset, the project team developed a detailed engineering plan specifying the lifting method, center of gravity, and securing points of the vehicle, as well as the vessel’s route to ensure that all necessary permits for oversized cargo were obtained. A custom flat-rack container with reinforced lashing points was selected, and a tailored lashing solution was designed in compliance with IMO/ISPM 15 standards to keep the bus perfectly stable throughout the voyage.
Loading was carried out under continuous supervision by MARINAIR technicians, using chain-tensioners and a real-time load-monitoring system to detect any vibrations. At the same time, close coordination with the Piraeus port authorities and customs officials in both Greece and Korea ensured that all clearance procedures were completed without delay.
Thanks to meticulous planning and the team’s expertise, the bus arrived in Busan on time and in excellent condition, once again demonstrating MARINAIR’s ability to manage complex international project cargo with precision, safety, and absolute reliability. This achievement highlights the company’s proven know-how in oversized and heavy-lift transportation and reinforces its position as a trusted partner for specialized global sea-freight operations.
