COLBECK & CLARKE (Canada) and GRUPO RONCO (Spain) collaborate for an Air Transport of a 6Tn Power Generation Turbine from Canada to Spain

In a significant logistical achievement, Pangea Partners, COLBECK & CLARKE in Canada and GRUPO RONCO in Spain, collaborated to move a power generation turbine back from Calgary, Canada, to Spain by air. The industrial gas turbine identified as TURBINE GG SN 2032, was a complex piece of equipment that required meticulous planning and coordination between both companies.

With impressive dimensions of 370 cm (L) x 230 cm (W) x 265 cm (H) and a weight of 5.995 kg, the turbine presented unique logistical challenges. COLBECK & CLARKE was responsible for the collection and air freight booking from Canada, ensuring the turbine was prepared for international transport. GRUPO RONCO took over the operation at the destination, handling all arrival and delivery requirements in Spain.

Once the turbine arrived in Spain, it was then shipped to Algeria for installation in the compression station of the underwater gas pipeline between Algeria and Europe. The turbines are being serviced to ensure that the station maintains good transport capacity of the gas in the pipeline. Shipment to Algeria was made on a flatbed trailer by RORO, from Almeria, Spain, to Ghazaouet, Algeria.

The transportation of heavy and oversized cargo such as this turbine requires a deep understanding of both air logistics and ground handling at the destination. The precision needed to manage not only the physical size but also the safety measures during the entire journey is critical, and both companies demonstrated their expertise through this successful collaboration.

This achievement highlights the successful collaboration between COLBECK & CLARKE and GRUPO RONCO, showcasing their ability to manage complex, time-sensitive deliveries across borders. Such partnerships are essential in ensuring that global industrial equipment deliveries are handled with care and efficiency, providing a reliable solution for clients in the energy sector.
