# UNITEX LOGISTICS (China & Hong Kong) Coordinates Sensitive CFM56 Engine Transport from Melbourne to Chengdu

PANCO member UNITEX LOGISTICS in China & Hong Kong coordinated the transport of a CFM56 aircraft engine from Melbourne to Chengdu. Valued at approximately US$9 million and weighing 4,605 kg, the shipment used multi-leg airfreight, integrated customs clearance and dedicated securing measures. Delivery was completed on time and without damage.

Although designed to operate at cruising altitude, CFM56 engines require highly controlled handling on the ground due to their sensitivity to vibration, tilt and humidity. The operation involved a multi-leg airfreight solution with international-to-domestic connections, supported by integrated customs clearance and close coordination across each stage of the transport chain.
To protect the engine throughout the journey, UNITEX LOGISTICS implemented a dedicated securing plan using 14 high-tensile straps, anti-slip padding and four anchor chains. The shipment was transported using CFM56-compliant tie-down methods and air-ride suspension equipment, helping maintain stability during ground handling and inland movements.
